eskimosoup were appointed to deliver the communications for a major social marketing campaign aimed at raising awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental health throughout Hull.
The campaign ran from April 2012 to March 2013.
Following insight work the campaign utilised a wide-range of communications methods to reduce stigma and increase awareness throughout a range of specific and general issues.
The campaign included the development of an interactive website, social media, outdoor advertising, real life and drama videos, PR, special events, sponsorship of public spaces, poster campaign and even a pop record!
This campaign gave us the benefit of meeting and working with some inspirational people who were living proof that suffering from a mental health problem does not mean that you cannot live a positive and rewarding life. Encouraging people to support each other doesn’t make the problem go away but has made life a bit better for many people.
Independent evaluation showed 21% campaign recall amongst target a random selection of residents within Hull and a significant increase in awareness and acceptance of mental health.
